Welcome to the first issue of ‘The Racing Line’ Cycle Reviewer’s very own weekly round-up of reviews, gossip and race results.
The King is dead, long live the King!
Well, more of a duelling scar than a Royal incarnation, but last week saw Cycle Reviewer’s home page get an exciting re-vamp, with the inclusion of the live-feed section that links straight into the latest bike and product reviews, so go there right now ...
It gets even more exciting as we welcome on-board two new advertisers to keep Schwalbe Tyres for company: our very own Italian Job - Bianchi Bikes, and one of the New Forest’s most prominent bike hire centres and shops, Cycle Experience of Brockenhurst and Wareham.
How much fun can you have with your Lycra on?
In a desperate ploy to get noticed and up-scale Cycle Reviewer’s brand awareness, we’ve jumped in at the deep end and entered into the wonderful world of cyclocross!
Wessex Cyclocross League kicked off their season in perfect Indian summer weather, rather than the mud-splattering pictures we most often associate with racing road bikes off-road. But that will change, sure as eggs is eggs!
With our new, Verge-made team kit stuck somewhere in the postal system, Team ‘Cycle Reviewer’ flew in under the radar for the inaugural round at Mary Hare School near Newbury with Junior Editor, Matt Black riding the Junior category, and yours truly taking it easy in the Vets 50 Cat.
Hosted by Newbury Road Club, we can only admire the slickness of the whole operation and while the quality of the field was exceptional, it’s the friendly and competitive nature of events such as these that can only be a good thing for cycling in general.
