Convenient, bite-sized and easy to swallow, the Honey Stinger Energy Chews are the perfect supplement for when the training just won’t gel.
Although the packaging is simple to split open with two hands (we don’t recommend ever taking your hands off the handlebars, of course!) my favourite method is to open the packet pre-ride and stash the chews in a handlebar food pouch where I could easily reach and eat the chews at my convenience – but then I ride a lot of TT events.
Boasting a smooth, non-sticky texture to help fuel that cold winter’s ride, you could simply empty the Honey Stinger chews into your jersey pocket and pick them out one by one; however, best store them in a packet or pouch for warmer conditions, unless you want a mess on your hands … and gloves … and jersey...
But just like munching away on a pack of sweets, you’ll soon want to satisfy your taste buds with another, so it’s just as well that each packet contains a generous number of individual bite-sized pieces to support and maintain sustained efforts levels.
However, some riders prefer a few of these small chews in one hit, in which case I would recommend an additional packet for a longer ride.
Unlike some energy chews, Honey Stinger have created a sweet droplet which is very quick to break down in your mouth. They don’t stick to your teeth and gums either, so you can eat, breath, and pedal at the same time – what more could you ask for!
In summary: A natural, non-artificial tasting and fast acting fuel supplement, Honey Stinger Energy Chews are just as pleasant to eat when sitting high in the saddle while enjoying the sweet honey flavours gradually melt away in your mouth.
Warning though! One packet of Honey Stinger Energy Chews just isn’t enough for one ride. They are so moreish you’ll soon devour them!
